REVERBERATION AND ITS APPLICATION
When a listener is some distance from the sound source, the sound that is perceived is different from the direct sound. This difference is due to the reflections from the boundaries of the listening area adding to the direct sound from the source. These reflections, referred to as reverberation, enhance the sound giving it depth, color, and liveliness.
